Saif Ali Confirms Daughter Sara’s Debut In Karan Johar’s SOTY2

Saif confirmed daughter Sara’s debut project with KJo. Rumors say, she replaces Disha Patani for ‘SOTY 2’.

With the new celebrity kids having grown up, speculations have been rife regarding Sara Ali Khan’s debut for quite sometime now. However, it has now been confirmed by papa Nawab Saif Ali Khan himself that we will soon see Sara doing her first film with Bollywood’s star-maker, Karan Johar.

After launching Alia Bhatt with Student of the Year in 2012, KJo was very keen on a sequel to the film. If industry talks are to be believed, Karan Johar had Sara in mind but a few days earlier, we heard that daddy dearest wasn’t very keen on Sara being launched by Karan.

Recently, in an interview for Rangoon with PinkVilla, Saif confirmed Sara’s launch with KJo. However, the witty man that he is , Saif didn’t reveal which film Sara would be a part of. Here’s what Saif said:

I am very happy to see Sara doing whatever she has her heart set on. We talk constantly and she discusses whatever she wants to and I give her my advice. But eventually it is her decision. I think she is going to work with Dharma. I am very happy she is working with Karan Johar because I think he is brilliant with newcomers and he will launch her correctly. He is a very intelligent and a passionate filmmaker and he understands films.

While Saif did not reveal much about which film his daughter Sara would be doing, the grapevine seems to suggest that she may have replaced Disha Patani in the sequel of Student Of The Year. According to an article by DNA, an inside source has revealed that Disha had been finalised to play a role in the film alongside rumoured boyfriend, Tiger Shroff.

Director Punit Malhotra and producer Karan Johar were also keen on seeing this fantastic real life chemistry come alive on screen. However, the source also revealed that Disha was replaced by Sara as KJo was always planning to launch Sara. Earlier, it was speculated that she would be launched alongside Shahid’s brother Ishaan Khattar but now looks like things are turning out differently for Sara.
