There is a lot that happens in this episode, but not everything manages to tie up the loose ends satisfactorily.

True to its character, Quantico raises more questions than it answers. Episode 15, called “Turn”, promises to be teeming with twists, turns, dead ends and U-turns as we try to keep up with the narrative which is quite liberal with flashbacks. This constant switching between timelines makes life a wee bit difficult for us in Episode 15.

Simon is shown firmly by Alex’s side as he tries to decode the terrorist’s voice. He must hurry up though, as the blackmailing isn’t showing any signs of abating. Alex is then instructed to switch Senator Haas’s bottle of pills, but Hannah stonewalls her each time. Hannah‘s interactions with Alex and her forthright responses all help constitute some of the best moments of the show.

Jam-Packed Episode

Further, Caleb lets out a huge secret about Shelby’s life. We surely didn’t see this one coming! Also, the flashbacks focus on Quantico and the time armed gunmen came in to attack the facility. Overall, the episode is jam-packed, and while lots of loose strings have been tied up in this installment, they are done is such a rushed fashion that the desired effect isn’t achieved.

This brings me to the spoilers. In case you want to stay clear of them; reader discretion is advised beyond this point!

Caleb knows that Shelby’s parents are alive. Clearly, this is a huge revelation. But how did he come to know? Not letting the viewers in on how he reached this conclusion makes it all look very torpid. And he hides his secret documents under his pillow? Like, seriously? Who is he… Bhagyashree of Maine Pyaar Kiya?

Moving on, the whole angle about Quantico being on lockdown lacks the necessary punch.

The least one would expect is the NAT putting their training to good use. Instead, it comes across as a forced attempt to allow Drew to go all Sunny Deol on Liam. Liam doesn’t need to resign because he bravely wields his gun at the attacker, Drew manages to get on Liam’s good books for saving his life, and Miranda gets embroiled in a hostage crisis involving her son. The turns are a little too contrived, too convenient, and very, very abrupt.

Final Verdict

There is a lot that happens in this episode and not everything manages to tie up the loose ends satisfactorily. But watch it to stay abreast of all that is happening in Quantico, because things will only get more confusing from here. Plus, now that Alex and Simon have found an unlikely partner, let’s hope we zero in on the real culprits soon.
