According to Kumar, the BJP still looks strong despite the loss. However, Congress' performance has shown that the big showdown in 2019 won't be a David vs Goliath fight; it will be a fight of equals.
The Assembly election results also sends a message to the regional parties to form possible coalitions with Congress at the helm, Kumar said.
