The Indian cricket team were a happy bunch on Tuesday after they beat Australia in the Dharamsala Test to regain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and remain unbeaten in the series at home this season.
“Over 2,000 first class runs, does Pujara need a break at the end of this all?” Ravi Shastri asked Pujara in the post-match presentation.
To this, Pujara replied with characteristic sincerity:
Not really, I would still like to keep going if there were a few more matches after this because I have been batting well. I am enjoying my cricket. It was a great season for me and my team.
As soon as Pujara was done talking, KL Rahul jumped in and said:
You should ask Pujara’s wife if she wants Pujara to take a break. She will be the best one to tell that.
Pujara and Shastri had a good laugh as the camera showed the cricketer’s wife Pooja in splits too.
