Left-arm spinner Steve O'Keefe picked up 12 wickets to guide Australia to a first win in India since 2004 on Saturday in Pune. The 333-run thrashing in the opening test also bringing the home side's 19-match unbeaten streak to a halt.

India, who had not lost a home test in 20 matches since a 2012 defeat to England in Kolkata, were once again unable to cope with O'Keefe's probing lines after they were bundled out for a paltry 105 in the first innings. The 32-year-old returned matching career-best figures of 6-35 in both innings for a maiden 10-wicket test haul.

Chasing a massive victory target of 441, India folded with just 107 runs on the board. The 333-run defeat one of India’s worst-ever.

Here are some numbers that emerged from the three days of the Test.

Aussie captain Steve Smith scored 109 off 202 deliveries in the second innings. This marked his fifth century in five consecutive Tests against India, and also his 18th Test ton and first in India.

Australia weren't able to win a Test match on their last three visits to India; they were whitewashed on their last two tours of the country, and lost the 4-match series 0-2 in 2008.

This was the visitor’s first Test win in India since October 2004.
