Delhi is slated to further ease lockdown restriction from 5 am of Monday, 14 June. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the same on Sunday, 13 June, as per ANI, saying:
“After 5 am tomorrow (Monday), all activities will be allowed except some that will be prohibited and some that will be done in a restricted manner. A detailed order will be issued.”
Will offices be allowed to open?
- Private offices will run on 50% capacity from 9 am to 5 pm.
- In government offices, there will be 100% attendance of group A officers and 50% for the rest.
Will public transport be functional?
- Delhi Metro will be operational at 50% capacity. No standing passengers will be allowed.
- Intra-state buses will move with up to 50% capacity. No standing passengers will be allowed.
- Autos, e-rickshaws, grameen sewa, taxis, and cabs can carry up to two passengers at once.
Is inter-state movement allowed?
There are no restrictions on inter-state movement of persons and goods, including those for cross-land border trade under treaties with neighboring countries. No separate permission/e-pass will be required for such movements.
Which markets are allowed to open?
- All market complexes, stand-alone shops and malls will now be allowed to be open from 10 am to 8 pm.
- With regard to weekly markets, only one weekly market will be allowed to function each day per zone, and only with 50% of the vendors will be allowed to set up their shops. No weekly market will be allowed to function at roadsides.
- Salons will also be allowed to resume their services.
Is eating at restaurants permitted?
Restaurants will be open with 50% of their seating capacity. Restaurant owners will be responsible for ensuring that COVID-appropriate behaviour is followed by the personnel at their establishments.
Can marriages take place?
- Holding marriage ceremonies at public places, including hotels and banquet halls, is prohibited.
- For marriages organised at homes or the court, a maximum of 20 people can be in attendance.
- No DJs, catering services, tent services will be allowed to operate for marriages.
What about funerals?
A maximum of 20 people may be in attendance at funerals/last rites related gatherings.
Will schools and colleges reopen?
Schools, colleges and educational institutions will remain shut. Online and distance learning will continue.
What else will remain closed?
- Swimming pools, stadiums, sports complexes, cinema theaters, multiplexes,
- spas, gyms, yoga institutes
- Public parks and gardens
- Auditoriums, assembly halls, banquet halls
- Religious places will remain closed to visitors
Further, all social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, and religious gatherings are prohibited.
