Facebook is like a packet of cheesy masala chips. You love to munch on them and relish every bite, but when you overeat, you feel sick, guilty and just want to throw those oily chips in the bin. Yup, that’s Facebook for you – whether you love it, or hate it, you cannot ignore it.

After raiding our lives with ‘likes’, ‘shares’, ‘tags’ and ‘check-ins’, Mark Zuckerberg has decided to unleash the ‘dislike’ button upon us.

Gulp!

This got us thinking at The Quint about how we will like to use the dislike button.

I’m Taggin it!

Arrgghh, stop this tagging business. (Photo: iStock)

Isn’t it irritating when you get some 40-odd notifications, just because you’re tagged in a picture? A photograph you most likely don’t even feature in. Or worse, a photo of you partying till the wee hours, when you have called in sick the next day at work to cope with the hammering hangover. Tagging was all fun in the beginning till it turned out to be a nuisance.

Tagsters post: Last night was fun, @divya what do you think of the pic?

We all hate braggers, be it in real or virtual life. Braggers are like leeches who suck out all happiness from your life. They put up aww-so humble “statuses” of life being beautiful, that you probably want to drown your sorrows in a tub of ice cream. From their perfect jobs, to their fab bods, and their loveable baes and healthy bites. Life on Facebook can be a b****h!

But now you have the power of being the effing b****h by disliking the next “Oh such a beautiful morning” post.

Braggers post: I love my Ferrari. It’s so fast.

Are you an attention seeker? (Photo: iStock)

Yes, the Internet is liberating. It acts as an awesome megaphone to hear one and all, but it still doesn’t give a person the right to abuse on Facebook. How infuriating is it when you read a status message, or any random post laden with abuses? Some posts of rage are justified, but those who add in an effing abuse just to sound cool and get attention definitely deserve a thumbs-down.

Cuss post: F**k! I’m so bored. What should I do?

Love is all around us (read Facebook). (Photo: iStock)

Let’s be honest, there isn’t a day when we don’t have a wedding, an engagement or a honeymoon album popping up on our timeline. Love at the time of Facebook is the new bestseller on the stands. The overwhelming lovey-dovey posts are the cause of lovelaria – an infectious disease characterised by cycles of aversion, sweating and downhearted moping.

The best cure – hit dislike NOW.

Picture perfect. (Photo: iStock)

Selfie this, selfie that… That one perfect picture that could make or break your Facebook career. A flop DP (display picture) can taint your FB image forever. But changing it now and then can be rather painful for your social media acquaintances. Seriously people, we don’t care whether you are in the Bahamas or Jhumri Telaiya, just spare us the overdose.

Self-obsessed post: Me in front of a random giant rock. Cheese!
Erm… Dislike
