RPS had a good chance to dismiss Kohli when he looped a simple catch to Ankit Sharma, who unfortunately dropped it.

Both Kohli and De Villiers departed in the final over, but after causing sufficient damage.

Chasing 186 runs to win, RPS go off to a disastrous start. Faf du Plessis was caught by Harshal Patel off Kane Richardson after scoring just 2 runs. Pietersen who came in after that was retired hurt after just facing his first delivery while Steve Smith was brilliantly run out by Virat Kohli for just 4 runs.

But then RCB’s new signing Tabraiz Shamsi struck as he dismissed Rahane. Meanwhile the required run rate increased beyond 15 for RPS.

And then Dhoni departed.
