Additional DGP R Sreelekha, the first woman IPS officer from the Kerala cadre, has accused a fellow ADGP rank officer, Tomin J Thachankery, of harassing her for 29 years.

Sreelekha has claimed that Thachankery has “haunted her since her IPS training period in 1987 batch,” according to a report inThe Indian Express. She also accused Thachankery of being behind the probe on her in relation to a vehicle tax evasion case. The vigilance court in Thrissur had ordered a probe on Sreelekha in a case under her term as transport commissioner.

Thachankery has dismissed these allegations as baseless.

Everyone in department knows who has been haunting whom. I will bring the matter to the notice of seniors.
Tomin J Thachankery

Sreelekha is a decorated IPS officer of the Kerala cadre who was awarded President’s medal in 2004 for distinguished service.
