According to ANI, Kiku says that he has already apologised for his act and reiterated that, “I’m an artist who is given a role, a get-up & told what to do. I’ve already apologised, I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s sentiments.”

Lal Manohar Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana – where he was arrested – has said that the law will take its course.

It is a matter of law and order. An FIR has been registered and police will take action accordingly. The law will take its own course.

I mimicked politicians like Lalu ji, Mulayam ji, Atalji, Modi ji etc but never faced protest. Don’t know what Kiku Sharda said, but as long as we don’t insult national flag or religions, we should be free to express.

Raju Srivastav, Comedian

I am surprised that artists are being arrested for mimicry. It’s wrong.
