Remember how a couple of days ago, we asked Xiaomi to build us a quality laptop that cost much less than most other brands? Well, they’ve done it. With Mi Notebook Air, Xiaomi promises to offer a MacBook like quality on a Windows machine which will set you back back by up to Rs 50,000 only.
It has a full metal body, a slim and lightweight design and packs hardware under the hood that we don’t expect at prices under 40K.
Interestingly, Xiaomi hasn’t branded their notebooks, giving us the impression that another Apple-inspired product has been unlocked by the brand.
That, in a nutshell is the Mi Notebook Air. It is available in two sizes: 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch as well. All this points us to the fact that Xiaomi has indeed managed to pull a ‘Redmi’ with their notebook.
For now, the laptop will be available in China from 2 August, but we’re certain that bringing the laptops to India shouldn’t be an issue at all.

The Notebook Air series will be equipped with an Intel Core M3/Core i5 with 4/8GB RAM and 128/256 SSD storage units. Weighing less than 1.2-Kg, the laptop is obviously targeted at mobile consumers, who prefer lightweight devices for work on-the-go.
It runs on Windows 10, which is the most popular desktop PC platform in countries like China and India. For connectivity, there are USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type C for charging (quick at that) and HDMI ports.
All in all, the Mi Notebook Air could be the laptop that can become everyone’s favourite, if only because it is great value for money.
