Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal spoke to CNN-IBN’s Bhupendra Chaube defending the state government and SP Salwinder Singh who was abducted by terrorists in Pathankot.
Sukhbir Badal, Punjab Deputy Chief MinisterIf he (Salwinder Singh) needs to be slaughtered, slaughter him after the investigation. There was no lack of coordination between Centre and State. The state government had limited role in Pathankot attack operation.
Badal said that they had repeatedly informed the Centre about the lack of vigilance at the Punjab border. He added that the Punjab border surveillance is not even half of that in Jammu and Kashmir. In a conference on Sunday, IANS reported, Badal said, “The present BSF strength in the Punjab sector was inadequate, and the Punjab government wants the force strengthened in the state in view of the terror attack on the Indian Air Force base near Pathankot”.
The Deputy CM evaded queries on whether better coordination was required between the centre and the state, possibly avoiding any answers related to the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC).
