A Ghaziabad businessman has taken issues with the BJP’s claim of 346 Hindu families being forced to “flee” Kairana over fear of persecution, as he finds his family’s name wrongly on the list, reported The Indian Express.

Gaurav Jain filed a police complaint saying that “some unidentified people” wrote on the wall of his house that it was “up for sale”, and used that as evidence of Hindus leaving the town.

Jain’s father, Paras Chand’s name, is among the 63 names in BJP MP Hukum Singh’s second list of the alleged “Kairana exodus”.

According to the report, Jain has denied there was any threat to his family from any particular community.

I moved out in 2010 for the growth of my career. Later, my family – parents, wife and children – also shifted to Ghaziabad. But in the list, my father’s name too has figured.
Gaurav Jain told The Indian Express.

The Shamli District Magistrate Sujeet Kumar confirmed that he received Jain’s complaint, the report said. The second list released by Singh is currently being investigated.

Earlier, investigations revealed that of the 346 families in the list, only three had left the the town because of alleged threats, while most had left over a period of two decades and that too in search of better employment opportunities.
