An 11-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped and strangulated to death by three youths in Qutubshetra police station area. According to Superintendent of Police R P S Yadav, the girl had gone missing since January 5. Her body was recovered on January 7 after police intensified its search operation in the area.

All the three accused in the case have been arrested, he added. The minor and her mother had visited a relative on January 5. Her mother sent the girl to the neighbour’s house for some work, following which she went missing. Her mother reported a missing person complaint after which the girl’s body was found on Gangoh Road under Qutubshetra police station during intense police search that went on for three days.

The post-mortem report states that the girl was gangraped first and later strangled to death. A police team with the help of sniffer dogs arrested the three accused, identified as Dharamveer, Inderjeet and Shiv Kumar, according to the police.

The team will be rewarded with Rs 12,000 from DIG and Rs 5,000 its efforts, said Yadav, adding the investigation in the case is underway.
