Lose The Shame: Anne Hathaway Sends A Weighty Message

‘The Intern’ star gives some food for thought to body-shamers.

Anne Hathaway has spoken out against body-shamers through Instagram. The new mother - she gave birth to a baby boy this April - did her bit to uphold a woman’s right to flaunt post-baby weight for as long as she chooses.

Hathaway took to Instagram to share a photo of a cut pair of jeans and put a touching caption to it, emphasising that bodies grow and change, and there’s no shame in it - post-birth or otherwise.

There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever). There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all). There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer's are just too dang short for this summer's thighs. Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink.
