Jeff Sessions was confirmed as the Attorney General amidst tremendous opposition. Democratic Senator Elizabeth read out a letter by Martin Luther King Jr’s wife Coretta Scott King, in which she held that Sessions was unfit for elevation to higher office, given his blatant disregard for civil rights. The Senator’s persistent disapproval of Sessions was subsequently “silenced”.
Her efforts did not go unnoticed, however and social media users came out in support of Warren, using the hashtag #shepersisted .
