Following his interview with Paper Magazine, Ranveer Singh made a lot of headlines for his nude photoshoot. In photos that he has even shared on his Instagram, Singh is seen posing nude on a carpet and in several other positions.
The photos have earned praise from many, but are you even in India if a random unharmful thing does not someone? An NGO from Chembur, Mumbai filed a complaint against Singh for “huritng the sentiments of women,” following which the Mumbai Police filed an FIR against the actor.
Singh has been charged under IPC Sections 292 (Sale, etc of obscene books, etc) 293, 509 and sections of the IT Act. As the news broke online, users have talked about how this case is a waste of time and resources. Some have even said that this complaint is an overreaction to the photoshoot and that it was completely unnecessary.
