Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her production company, Purple Pebble Pictures, are teaming up with Melbar Entertainment Group for Barry Avrich's latest documentary, Born Hungry.
As per a report by Deadline, the film tells the true story of Sash Simpson, a young Indian boy who, abandoned by his family, embarks on a journey thousands of miles from home, surviving on the streets of Chennai. Now a successful celebrity chef, Sash returns to India with hazy memories, determined to reunite with his lost family.
Born Hungry premiered at the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival. It will also be screened at Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto on 26 April.
Chopra Jonas and Mary Rohlich, Head of TV and Film at Purple Pebble Pictures, will serve as producers. The partnership was negotiated by IAG representing Melbar Entertainment Group and UTA representing Chopra Jonas.
