Shakir Mir

Shakir Mir is an independent journalist based in Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir, contributing to The Wire, Nikkei Asia, The Economist, and TRT World. Previously a journalist at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (Times Group), Shakir has written extensively on politics, conflict, and social issues. He holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Journalism from the Islamic University of Science & Technology, Pulwama, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from S. P. College, Srinagar.
