From unrelated visuals viral as one from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's voter rights rally in Bihar to false claims about the SC's order on stray dogs in Delhi and old visuals associated with Mumbai rains, here are the viral pieces of misinformation that we fact-checked this week.

1. Old Video From Chennai Falsely Shared as Recent Visuals of Mumbai Airport’s T2

A video showing a flooded runway with individuals gathered around the front wheel of an airplane is circulating on social media. Users have claimed that it captures the scenes from Terminal 2 of Mumbai Airport during heavy rainfall in the city.

However, this claim is false as this video is old from Chennai. It shows the condition of the city’s airport from December 2023, when Cyclone Michaung impacted parts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

2. Does This Video Show a Muslim Man 'Luring' Hindu Girls in Chamoli? No!

A video showing a man being apprehended with a stick for allegedly “luring” schoolgirls into his room is being shared on social media as one from Uttarakhand’s Chamoli.

Those sharing the clip claimed the accused was a Muslim targeting Hindu girls and that locals caught him, sparking communal narratives around the incident.

However, the claim is false.

Local police sources confirmed to The Quint that the incident had no communal angle. They added that the accused as one 'Arjun Kumar'.

3. No, This Video Doesn’t Show Crowd Gathered for Rahul Gandhi’s Rally in Bihar

A video showing a huge crowd gathered in a field is going viral on social media platforms with users linking it to the Congress' ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar.

However, this claim is false. The video could be traced back to June, which predates the ongoing yatra in Bihar. It actually shows a bullock cart race held in Pedgaon, Maharashtra.

4. Video From Vietnam Showing Dead Corpses of Dogs Viral as One From Delhi

A troubling video showing two men pulling dog corpses from black plastic bags is being shared on social media.

Those sharing have claimed that it shows the large-scale extermination of stray dogs in Delhi after the Supreme Court's order to transfer them to shelters within eight weeks throughout the Delhi-NCR area.

However, this claim is false. The video shows an incident that took place in Ca Mau Province in southern Vietnam, where the bodies of 12 dogs were found with two men detained on charges of dog theft.

5. Is This a Video of Jon Stewart Criticising Trump’s Tariffs on India? No, It’s AI

A video showing The Daily Show host and comedian Jon Stewart is being shared on social media, which purportedly shows him criticising United States President Donald Trump's announcement of a 50 percent tariff on India for buying Russian oil.
