A video of Delhi riots accused Tahir Hussain's roadshow is being shared on the internet with a claim that it shows him taking out a procession even after losing the Mustafabad seat in the 2025 Delhi assembly elections.

What did users say?: Those sharing the clip have said, "Look at the audacity. Prime accused in Delhi Riots, Tahir Hussain, who was allowed to contest and released on bail by the Judiciary, received 33K votes. Despite losing, he took a rally and look at the support he got from his .com (sic)..."

An archive of the post can be seen here.

The above post had over five thousand views on the platform. More archives of similar claims can be found here, here, and here.

What are the facts?: The video could be traced back to at least 3 February, which predates the declaration of the election results in Delhi. This makes the claim false.

What led us to the truth?: Using the help of a video verification tool named InVID, we divided the viral clip into several keyframes and conducted a reverse image search on them.

  • This directed us to a longer version of the viral video published on an Instagram handle called 'aimim_malshiras_official'.

  • It was posted on 7 February, which predated the declaration of election results in Delhi.

  • Next, we found visuals from Hussain's roadshow live streamed by a Facebook user named 'भारतीय सैफ़ी समाज यूथ' on 3 February.

  • Its caption when translated to English mentioned, "A huge crowd gathered for Haji Tahir Hussain 's last roadshow at Mustafabad assembly constituency..."

  • On comparing the keyframes from the viral clip to the visuals available in the Facebook one, we found that both of them were from the same event.

A comparison clearly highlights the similarities.

News reports: A report published by ABP News said that Hussain had taken out a road show in Mustafabad area.

  • It mentioned that he was granted custody parole by the Supreme Court to campaign for the Delhi elections till 3 February.

  • The report further said that Hussain termed the allegations against him as false.

The report was published on 3 February.

About the Mustafabad seat: It should be noted that Mohan Singh Bisht from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the seat with over 17,000 votes.

  • Hussain received the third-highest votes on the seat, with an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) coming at the second place.

The results are available on the ECI website.

Conclusion: Evidently, the video is old and is being incorrectly shared as Hussain taking out a roadshow after losing his constituency in the Delhi elections.
