A video which shows a huge crowd gathered in a field is going viral on social media platforms with users linking it to the Congress' ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar.

What did users say?: Those sharing the clip have uploaded it with a caption that said, "BREAKING. A Tsunami of people have gathered in Bihar for the rally of INDIA alliance leader and LoP Rahul Gandhi. You couldn't find and inch of empty space at the venue of the rally."

This post on X had recorded over a lakh views on the platform. Archives of similar such claims could be found here, here, and here.

What are the facts?: The video could be traced back to June of this year, which predates the ongoing yatra in Bihar. It actually shows a bullock cart race held in Pedgaon, Maharashtra.

How did we find that out?: We used the help of Google Lens to conduct a reverse image search on the keyframes of the viral clip and found the same visuals posted on an unverified YouTube channel called '@love_bailgada_sharyat'.

  • The video was posted on 9 July with a caption that said, "RECORD BREAK PUBLIC #vairal #animals #bull #maharashtra" (sic).

  • Another round of reverse image search directed us to an older version of the same clip posted on an Instagram handle named '@maharashtra_king_mathur___1001'.

  • The video was shared on 28 June and its caption identified the location as 'Pedgaon Hindkesri Maidan' in Maharashtra.

What did Google Maps show?: On searching for Pedgaon Hindkesri Maidan on Google Maps, we found several visuals available on it that were uploaded by multiple users.

Comparing visuals: Team WebQoof compared a keyframe of the viral video with an image shared on Google Maps and found that both of them were from the same ground.

Conclusion: It is evident that the video is old and is from Maharashtra. The claim is false.
