The Chaitra Navratri began with devotees from all over the country visiting temples to worship Goddess Durga. According to the Hindu calendar, Chaitra Navratri 2016 will be celebrated from 8th April to 15th April.

The nine-day festival symbolises the triumph of good over evil. As per the Hindu calendar, it marks the start of new year.

Devotees believe all their prayers will be answered especially during Navratri. The nine days of the festival represent the nine forms of Goddess Durga.
