It’s that time of the year, once again, when the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2019 will be hosting a slew of telecom operators and local as well as global startups.

These entities will showcase their suite of 5G applications, as well as products that will power the next generation in connectivity.

You’ll have the telecom ministry deeply involved with industry conversations, but in addition to all this, there’ll be exciting gadgets and tech features that will catch our eye. Here’s a look at everything we expect to see in the third edition of India Mobile Congress, starting from 14 October.

PUBG Mobile Update Adds Ledge Grab, Exploding Cans & More

PUBG is all set to introduce new updates to its mobile multiplayer game in the coming days.

It’s not known when the update will actually roll out but the new 0.15.0 update will introduce a new vehicle and a player feature that will let players grab ledges and climb buildings.

This is the first time that PUBG is experimenting with player control dynamics and this will surely be a welcome addition to the game.

Jio Charges For Making Voice Calls, Airtel & Vodafone Respond

Forced by regulatory uncertainty over the review of sunset clause for call termination charges, billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio on Wednesday announced that it will charge customers 6 paise per minute for voice calls made to rival phone networks for all data recharges made from 10 October onwards.

But Jio claims it will compensate the users by giving free data of equal value.

In a statement, Jio said the 6 paisa charge will remain in place till the time telecom operators are required to pay rivals for mobile phone calls made by their users to other operators' networks

Airtel Shuts Down 3G Network in Haryana, Will Continue to Offer 2G

Airtel users in Haryana, it’s time to upgrade your 3G-supported devices, as the telecom operator, on Friday has decided to shut down its 3G services in the region. This has been done, to re-farm the network, and strengthen its 4G network in the state, allowing them to offer better services.

Haryana is the second telecom circle after Kolkata to see the discontinuation of 3G services by Airtel in 2019 and more circles are likely to be added by end of this year.

By switching to the 4G network, Airtel claims that its customers will be able to access 4G data speeds, clubbed with HD quality VoLTE calling as well.

Google Wants All the New Phones to Run on Android 10 From Feb 2020

The US-based search giant Google is making it compulsory for a smartphone manufacturer to ship devices with Android 10 after 31 January 2020.

After the above-mentioned date, Google will only approve new devices running the latest Android version, Android 10 and the company will stop approving new devices running Android 9 Pie.

The information regarding the company's move was spotted in the latest version of Google Mobile Services or GMS requirements. GMS includes a suite of Google apps and services licensed by its OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partners, XDA Developers reported this week.
