Apple CEO Tim Cook has predicted that by the time the Millenial generation has kids, cash will not be in use. Instead, they will use mobiles to pay bills and buy cars.
While in the United Kingdom to promote Apple’s mobile wallet, he fielded questions from students at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
Your kids will not know what money is.Tim Cook, Apple CEO
Cook made the bold prediction that the future will rely heavily on mobile payment solutions like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay. The Apple CEO visited Trinity College for Apple Pay’s debut in the UK.
Countries like the US, UK and some parts of South Asia have warmed up to mobile payments, but the majority in a market like India have still not made the shift completely.
That said, with names like PayTM, PayU and Oxigen, the landscape is changing albeit slower than the country’s Western counterparts.
Tim Cook had earlier also predicted that Apple Pay would make it big, a claim that has not yet come to fruition.
