Big Bucks, Crime and Power: Assam Assembly Elections Phase 2

The Quint sets the stage for Phase 2 of Assam’s assembly elections.

Assam is one of five states going to polls this year. The first phase of two-phase election took place on 4 April, and brought to the fore a number of colourful candidates; rich, powerful and law-evading.

The second phase of the elections on 11 April has some big contenders, and some of them have decidedly dicey credentials.
