Pachauri’s Lies Busted? Forensic Report Claims Devices Not Hacked

After women accused him of sexual harassment, Pachauri had expressed shock and claimed his devices were hacked.

Despite, former Executive Vice Chairman of TERI, RK Pachauri's claims of his laptop being hacked, a Forensic Science Laboratory investigation revealed that none of his personal electronic devices were hacked.

After several women accused Pachauri of sending lewd messages and sexual harassment, Pachauri had swiftly expressed shock and claimed his computer was hacked, in an interview with The Guardian.

As woman after woman broke their silence, they said that Pachauri’s claims were completely false.

One woman wrote in her written confession:

Pachauri’s claim that his computer was hacked is totally false. From my point of view, this is right in line with his character, and not a case of his computer being hacked. I think it is important for me to now make my statement public so that people know the truth about Pachauri.

Another complainant said:

However, what totally shocked me was when Mr Pachauri claimed that his computer/lap­top had been hacked, implying that it was not him who had harassed the complainant but that the charges against him were part of a ploy or a conspiracy against him. This is when I decided to speak up immediately.

The women accused Pachauri of calling them during non-office hours and holidays and even asking intrusive questions.

Despite so many allegations against him, the former TERI chief repeatedly maintained that he has done “no wrong”.

The Delhi Police had asked FSL to examine seven electronic devices, mobiles, computers and laptop that were used by Pachauri.

In its report, FSL said that no suspected or unusual activity or interference was observed, Economic Times reported.

The Delhi Police had earlier told Delhi's Saket Court:

…during preliminary inquiries and CDR (call detail record) analysis no evidence came on record that his (Pachauri’s) mobile phone and other equipment have been hacked during conversation with complainant.
