1. Body Of One Miner Recovered By Navy In Meghalaya

After over a month of rescue operations, the body of one of the fifteen miners trapped in an illegal coal mine at Ksan near Lytein River in East Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya has been recovered.

According to the Navy, the body was found in a depth betweenn 160 to 210 feet in a “rathole” mine.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has said that the rescue operations will continue till the bodies of all fifteen miners are found- dead or alive.

2. Supreme Court Relaxes, Modifies Maharashtra Dance Bar Rules

The Supreme Court on Thursday, 17 January upheld the Maharashtra government’s 2016 law on rules for dance bars, even as it modified some of them. The most significant of the changes being that the court has now disallowed CCTV cameras from being installed in these bars stating that it infringes upon privacy. Moreover, it has also made tipping bar dancers legal.

Infrastructurally, the Court said, the dance area of the bar does not need to be segregated from the liquor-serving areas.

3. Delhi Couple Stabbed To Death As Neighbours Record Incident

One of the New Year wishes we all had in 2019 was that people stop recording those in trouble and instead, actually go help them!

In an incident that has come to light in West Delhi’s Khayala, a 35-year-old woman and her husband were stabbed to death by their neighbour after a minor scuffle. What is shocking, though, is that the entire murder was recorded by their neighbours who did nothing to help!

According to the cops, the woman died on the spot while her husband succumbed to his injuries in a local hospital. Their 20-year-son who was also stabbed is in a critical condition and battling for his life.

4. Rishabh Pant Puts Up Picture With Girlfriend; Internet Goes Crazy

Rishabh Pant may not be on the field is making quiet a noise off it. The cricketer put up a picture with his girlfriend Isha Negi on Instagram and the internet has gone crazy!

Negi, who is an entrepreneur and interior designer, according to her Insta bio, also put up the same picture.
