Amid the rising incidences of mob violence based on false rumours of child-lifting, a man was thrashed by a mob on suspicion of child-lifting in Uttar Pradesh’s Majhola on Friday, 30 August.
According to the local police, seven people have been arrested in connection with the case. Speaking to The Quint, Majhola police said that the man was mentally unstable and has now been taken to a hospital.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajesh Kumar told ANI, “We have asked the locals to immediately contact the police if they hear such rumours”.
