Pakistan Issues Threat Alert for Attack on Indo-Pak Border

Pakistan has said that two suicide bombers have been dispatched to carry out attacks on the Indo-Pak border.

Islamabad has issued an alert for a possible attack at the India-Pakistan border in Punjab province.

Pakistan’s National Counter Terrorism Authority on Tuesday, in a letter to Home Secretary of Punjab, said:

Reportedly, Tehreek-e-Taliban, Fazal Ullah group is planning to target parade at Wagah border in Lahore or Ganda Singh Border in Kasur on August 13, 14 or 15...Extreme vigilance and heightened security measures are suggested to avoid any untoward incident.

It also said that at least two suicide bombers have been dispatched to carry an attack on the border.

Security has been heightened in Pakistan ahead of August 14, the country’s Independence Day.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair a high level security meeting on Wednesday to discuss the National Action Plan (NAP).

Talking to Dawn, a government official privy to the meeting said a point-wise discussion was expected with the top brass:

Everything under the sun which has something to do with NAP implementation will be taken up and discussed.
