Stop Others From Stealing Your Pen
If you’re anything like me, you probably have the habit of carrying a pen with you all the time AND you have probably lost an obscene number of pens because your friends and colleagues know this fact about you.
A simple trick to not lose your pen is to hold onto the pen’s cap (unless you use a click pen, in which case, too bad!). People generally do not want to keep a cap-less pen in their pockets and bags. There is a good chance that the pen will be returned to you.
Get Something Out of Your Eye, Fast
This is a difficult problem with an easy solution. If you ever find yourself unable to get that tiny dust particle out of your eye and there is no water at hand, just look at the ground and blink repeatedly. Let gravity do the rest of the job.
Eat Healthier Without Limiting Your Diet
This is for the lazy ones out there.
The trick is to eat the healthiest foods on your plate first so that your hunger is satisfied and you have less space in your stomach for the unhealthy stuff (unless all you have ordered is unhealthy food, in which case, change your diet!).
Fall Asleep Immediately
This is going to sound preachy, but if you want to fall asleep quicker and deeper, lose the screens. Keep your phones and laptops as far away from you as possible.
You can additionally follow the 4-7-8 breathing trick: breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, then hold your breath for 7 seconds, and finally exhale for 8 seconds. This helps to fall asleep quicker.
Avoid Bumping Into Someone
It often happens that you run into someone in a considerably closed space. In an attempt to pass, you turn right and so does the person opposite you. You then turn left and so do they.
The trick in such situations is to exercise patience. Remain stationary and let the other person move around you and pass without causing any confusion.
Make Your Apology Sound Sincere
This is perhaps something we all need to learn. An apology, remember, can only sound sincere if it is sincere. But sometimes, even our most sincere apologies can sound insincere because of the way we construct our sentences.
Never use the word ‘but’ after an apology; replace it with a simple pause. So, instead of saying “I am sorry, but I tried”, you can say, “I am sorry. I tried”.
