Ashley posted this photo of her Omi and Opi as they were wiping away their tears. Calling it the “saddest picture” that she has taken in her life, she shared this emotional moment on her Facebook account.
The elderly couple, married for over six decades, have been separated from each other for 8 months now. Due to the delays in the healthcare systems, both of them are in different nursing homes.
Ashley’s grandfather has Dementia and has been recently diagnosed with Lymphona (a form of cancer affecting the immune system). The family has made it a point to ensure regular meetings between the couple so that Dementia does not affect the memory of her grandmother in her grandfather’s mind. They still cry each time they see each other.
