Dear Soldier,
I would like to confess, I have never made an effort to recognise the worth of soldiers. I hardly remember you, in every festival. While I'm enjoying my vacations with family, I never think about you.
While I'm craving for snacks, I don't think whether you had your lunch or not. Kashmir is one of my favourite travel destinations, to explore its wintery beauty. But I never think about the good hearts residing there, suffering extreme coldness. While I'm making new friends, I don’t appreciate the unity and integrity present among you.
But, now it is time to rethink. How wrong I was.
You are the reason I believe that there are people like you who take nothing for granted. Loyalty, love for his/her job, discipline, makes you more admirable. So many lives, so many tears are the inspiration for your unbeaten calmness in your heart. You just ignored everything for me.
You are serving me. I genuinely need to thank you for the efforts you made for me, for us.
Respect and gratitude,
A student who is being protected by strongest force in our country.
