Everyone loves Apu. Only now, many hate him too. We are talking of course about the racism row that has hit the favourite 90s TV show, The Simpsons, and its stereotypical depiction of Apu - the Indian owner and manager of the Springfield Kwik-E-Mart.

Priyanka Chopra shared her take on the controversy on The View, saying that Apu was “the bane” of her life when she was growing up.

“He was the bane of my life growing up. I was always asked when I was in high school— like at 14, 15 —  why I didn’t speak like that…I always had questions like that.”
