The grapevine has been abuzz with rumours of Kapil Sharma taking a massive pay cut for the second season of The Kapil Sharma Show - his comeback. According to media reports, from Rs 60-70 lakh per episode, his pay was slashed to Rs 17-20 lakh. They suggested that even Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek have been working at a reduced rate.
His colleague and comedian Krushna Abhishek slammed the rumours and opened up to BollywoodLife. He also spoke about Salman Khan being a ‘generous’ producer.
“These pay cut rumours are false. We are getting our stipulated amount. We are extremely happy working together. Anyways, money is secondary. No one can beat the fact that The Kapil Sharma Show is the biggest comedy show in the country,” he said.
In March 2018, his show Family Time With Kapil Sharma was taken off air after a few episodes. The second season of The Kapil Sharma Show marks the comedian’s return to small screen after a hiatus of almost a year.
