It seems the censor board has not learnt its lesson even after the massive embarrassment that was the Udta Punjab controversy. Now it’s up in arms against the Nawazuddin-starrer Haraamkhor.

According to Huffington Post, the CBFC has found the film’s content “objectionable” and has refused to pass the film by denying it a certificate.

The film, which won the Silver Gateway Award in the India Gold section at the 17th Jio MAMI Film Festival held in Mumbai last October, depicts the illicit relationship between a 14-year-old girl and her tuition teacher in a small town. The indie film directed by Shlok Sharma stars Shweta Tripathi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
