Christian Bale's Vice, a biographical comedy-drama on former Vice President Dick Cheney's career, has bagged a maximum of six nominations for the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards, with The Favourite, Green Book and A Star Is Born coming close on the heels with five nominations each.

The 2019 Golden Globes nominations were announced on Thursday by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organisation behind the award gala, reports USAtoday.com.

The most remarkable thing was the fact that online streaming platforms dominated the awards. Netflix and Amazon combined earned 23 nominations this year, which shows the growth in their presence.
