AI-Generated Images of Ishan Kishan With Kavya Maran & Smriti Mandhana Viral

These images are edited using artificial intelligence and are not real.

A few images featuring cricketer Ishan Kishan with businessperson and owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Sunrisers Hyderabad Kavya Maran, in front of the Charminar are being shared on social media platforms.

Another collage containing two images of Kishan with cricketer Smriti Mandhana is also being shared on social media. One image shows the two together on the field, the second shows them in a pool and the third post shows the two getting married.

Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false. All the images are generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

CLAIM 1: At first, we ran several keyword searches to know whether the two had been to the monument together. However, we did not find any.

• We, then, went through Kishan’s social media but, did not find the image there.

• Following this, we noticed an extra level to the Charminar which hinted that it could be an image created using AI.

• We ran the image on AI-detection websites, Hive Moderation, Sightengine, and AI or Not and found the following.

• Both platforms detected the image to have 99 percent AI-generated content.

• Upon running a Google reverse image search on the image, we also came across some posts which carried the same image noting that they were generated using AI.

• We also compared the girl in the image with Maran's images available on the internet. Using the image from Lokmat's report, we found differences between the two.

CLAIM 2: We ran a Google reverse image on the images of Mandhana and Kishan, however, did not find any credible sources.

• Taking the first image in account, we compared the two girls in the image and found slight differences. We took an image of Mandhana featured in a report by Midday.

AI-detection websites: Upon noticing a glossy texture of the images, we ran the images on Hive Moderation, Sightengine, and AI or Not. All three websites detected it as AI-generated.

• We also found another image of the two allegedly together in a swimming pool, however, these posts mentioned that it was created using AI.

There are no reports about Kishan and Mandhana getting married.
