Aadhaar Database Compromised

In a damning revelation, a Tribune report found that India’s entire Aadhaar database can be accessed for as low as Rs 500. UIDAI denied the breach, adding that “the data is fully safe and secure”. The ruling BJP called the report “fake”.

An investigation by Chandigarh’s The Tribune revealed that India’s Aadhaar database has allegedly been compromised.

According to the investigation, the entire Aadhaar data can be accessed for Rs 500, through operators formerly hired by UIDAI.

UIDAI has responded by saying that there hasn’t been “any Aadhaar data breach”.

The UIDAI portal, which can only be accessed by admins of the Aadhaar database, is currently down.
