Priyanka Chopra finally flashed her engagement ring for the world to see at Manish Malhotra’s party on Tuesday night. Inside pictures from the party show Priyanka with her arm around actor Raveena Tandon and her finger displays the stone which Nick Jonas slipped on her during their reported engagement.

It was reported that Priyanka and Nick got engaged after the singer proposed to her on her birthday in London in July. Priyanka was later spotted attending Nick’s cousin’s wedding and then the couple flew in to Mumbai to meet Priyanka’s family.

The first official poster of Kangana Ranaut - starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was released on 15 August to coincide with India’s Independence Day. Kangana plays the role of Rani Laxmibai in this ambitious period film. Producers Zee Studios and Kamal Jain chose 15 August to unveil the poster since the Queen of Jhansi ignited India’s fight for independence.

Salman Khan’s next biggie Bharat has been in the news recently for Priyanka Chopra’s surprise exit from the film. However, with the inclusion of Katrina Kaif in this ambitious big budget venture, Bharat is back on track and first shooting schedule is currently underway.

4. Nawazuddin-Starrer ‘Manto’ Trailer Released on Independence Day

The trailer for Nandita Das’ Manto was released, perhaps symbolically, on 15 August, 2018, marking the 72nd year of a “Free India”.

Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Das’ biopic on Saadat Hasan Manto, a Pakistani writer, playwright, and author, who was born in Colonial India, and was famous for his stories on the “atrocious” truths marking the subcontinent post partition, has been on everyone’s must-watch list for a few months now.
