1. ‘Gold’ Box Office: Biggest Opening for Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar-Mouni Roy-starrer Gold has opened big at the box office. Releasing on Independence Day, the patriotic sports drama has had the highest opening as far as Akshay Kumar’s films go.
The Reema Kagti film has raked in Rs 25.25 crore on day 1.

2. Gear up for Manoj Bajpayee’s Mind Games in ‘Gali Guleiyan’
Two-time National Award winner Manoj Bajpayee bagged the award for Best Actor for his film Gali Guleiyan (In The Shadows) at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) recently. The big win has made film buffs curious and the trailer is set to release on 17 August.

3. ‘Satyameva Jayate’ BO: John Abraham Film Is Rocking Single Screens
John Abraham-starrer Satyameva Jayate has opened big at the box office. Releasing on Independence Day, the Milap Milan Zaveri film also stars Manoj Bajpayee, and Aisha Sharma.
Satyameva Jayate has raked in Rs 20.52 crore on day one, and according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, is doing great business on single screens.

4. Tahira Kashyap - Ayushmann’s Wife - to Direct Her First Feature
Tahira Kashyap, who has been married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana for over eight years, is all set to make her first feature film as a director. Tahira had earlier made the short film Toffee, which screened at Mumbai Film Festival among others.
Apart from film, Tahira has worked as author, teacher, theatre director and radio programmer. Her debut is said to be a “warm, slice-of-life drama” set in Mumbai. The film is currently casting and will shoot next year. When asked if she will be casting Mr Kashyap, Tahira had this to say to Mumbai Mirror.

Saif Ali Khan turns 48 on 16 August and the Sacred Games star rang in his special day with wife Kareena Kapoor and the extended family. The midnight party was attended by Karisma Kapoor, Sara, Ibrahim and Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu among others.
