What we found?: We conducted a Google reverse image search and found a stock image in Pixels with the text "LET YOUR DREAM COME TRUE" written on the banner which was posted on 6 May 2021.

  • This shows that the viral image has been manipulated and edited as the stock image has the same plane and the background of the sky.

  • However, as per a several news reports, an airplane flying a banner saying, "RESIGN ASIM MUNIR" was displayed over a stadium in Florida on 3 August during a cricket match between Pakistan and West Indies.

Conclusion: The viral claim that a US airplane flew a “Welcome Asim Munir” banner is false as the image is digitally edited, and no such event took place.
