A video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking in the Parliament is being shared on the internet with a claim that it shows him talking how he was unprepared after the recent escalations with Pakistan.
What did the clip show?: In the viral clip, PM Modi could be heard mentioning that he was initially nervous after Pakistan 'suddenly attacked' India.
The video showed PM Modi talking about how Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were afraid after the attack.
The above post had over 17 thousand views on the platform at the time of writing this report.
What is the truth?: The viral clip has been heavily altered to mislead the viewers.
In his original speech, PM Modi had talked about how the monsoon session of the Parliament was about Vijayotsav (celebration of victory) and Gaurav Gaan (song of glory).
Hints in the viral clip: We noticed that the viral clip seemed mechanical and lacked the usual tone and pauses taken by PM Modi during his public speeches.
This indicated the possibility of the video being altered. We further noticed the date and time stamp at the bottom of the viral clip.
It showed the date as 29 July, and the time was 6:15 pm.
Finding the original video: Next, we conducted a simple keyword search on YouTube and found the full speech of PM Modi available on the official channel of Sansad TV.
The video's title said, "LS | PM Modi Speaks in Lok Sabha on Special discussion on 'Operation Sindoor' | 29 July, 2025."
PM Modi started his speech at 6:15 pm (same timestamp as the viral clip) with mentioning how he appealed to everyone that the monsoon session should be about India's Vijayotsav and Gaurav Gaan.
He said that the Vijayotsav is for destroying the headquarters of terrorists and for fulfilling the promise of Sindoor.
PM Modi further praised the bravery of the Indian armed forces and said that the celebration is also of the unity, willpower, and incredible victory of 140 crore Indians.
What did a detection tool show?: Team WebQoof passed the video through Contrails AI to further verify its authenticity. The tool said that it detected manipulation in the video and the audio.
Conclusion: Evidently, the video of PM Modi has been altered to mislead viewers.
