A video widely circulating on social media claims to show a man dressed in a Pakistan Army uniform standing in a long queue.
What we found: At first, we divided the viral video into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.
It led us to a post on Instagram by a user named Arjun Rao. It featured the same video and was uploaded on 29 June.
However, the post was shared without a caption.
Additionally, we checked the about section of the account and found that it was based in India.
Difference in badges: Upon noting that the actual person in the viral clip said that the badge was 'fake,' we verified the ranks of Pakistan's army on a college website which helps people prepare for military services.
The badge in the viral video is that of a lieutenant general and not a brigadier, as claimed on social media.
Team WebQoof reached out to the Rao who uploaded the original video.
Rao responded and said that he was accompanied by another actor named Sachin Sharma.
He added that it was shot during shooting of a film and it was not meant to hurt or insult anyone.
Conclusion: A video showing a man in a Pakistani military officer's uniform has gone viral to falsely claim that it shows a brigadier standing in line for food.
