Justice DY Chandrachud To Be Next Chief Justice of India From 9 November

Earlier on 11 October, CJI UU Lalit had recommended Justice Chandrachud's name for the role of next CJI.

Justice DY Chandrachud has been appointed the next Chief Justice of India and his tenure will start from 9 November, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Monday, 17 October.

"In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, Hon'ble President appoints Dr. Justice DY Chandrachud, Judge, Supreme Court as the Chief Justice of India with effect from 9th November, 22," Rijiju tweeted.
