Thong Jeans, the Latest Denim ‘Trend’ Leaves Little to Imagination

Show of hands if you can’t wait to don the thong jeans which will hit the stores next year. Not judging, seriously!

Horrendous. Crazy. Wacky. These were the reactions when people got a glimpse of the thong jeans – the latest entrant in the denim family has been breaking the internet ever since its launch.

For the ones who are caught unawares, Amazon Fashion Week in Tokyo saw Japanese Designer Thibaut present his latest creation “thong jeans” to the world as part of the Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Yes! thong jeans are a reality. It took time to come to terms with it but they exist. But why?

Well, the jeans (if you may call it that) is nothing but a few denim strips attached to a belt. The front and back panels – hallmark of jeans – are completely gone.

We Aren't the Only Ones Complaining

Thong jeans led to a Twitter storm with baffled people sharing their no-holds-barred opinions on the latest fashion fiasco.
