Kohli surprised the 57 residents of the Abhalmaya when he dropped in at the old-age home run by Dr Aparna Deshmukh in the city’s region along Sinhagad Road. Kohli later said:

People like Dr Aparna are doing remarkable work by running such a facility for all those elderly, who have been left by their dear ones. This is absolutely wrong and it is our duty to take care of the elderly members of our family.

Kohli’s foundation will help the financially-fragile organisation.

The Test captain of the Indian cricket team was in Pune to play the Indian Premier League (IPL) match for Royal Challengers of Bangalore against Rising Pune Supergiants, on Friday.
