India defeated South Africa by an innings and 202 runs in the third and the final Test at Ranchi to complete a 3-0 series sweep. The hosts produced an all-round performance to whitewash the visiting team in a brilliant start to their home season.

South Africa was dominated by the home team in each and every department, leaving them clueless throughout the series. Three Indian batsman scoring double centuries and the Indian pace attack demolishing the Protean batting line were the highlight of this series.

Virat Kohli and his men played exceptionally well in this series and were proud of themselves. They took to Twitter to share their happiness.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli wrote, “So proud of this amazing team and the hard work which is put in day in and day out. Onwards and upwards.”

Man of the Match in the last Test and also the Man of the Series Rohit Sharma said that he is very happy to be part of the Indian team. “Very assertive and clinical, that’s how I would like to put it across this entire month. Extremely happy to be part of the incredible Indian team.”

Indian team coach, Ravi Shastri wrote, “Excellent bunch of people to be with. Congratulations on an outstanding series win. Enjoy the moment.”

Seamer Mohammed Shami who played exceptionally well in this series wrote, “Congratulations team india and good show with bat -bowl guy’s. (sic)”

Coming back into the playing XI after a long time, Umesh Yadav gave an all-round performance in the series. He tweeted saying, “What an amazing series win.
Great effort by the bowlers and batsman. Proud to be a part of this team.”

Rishabh Pant also tweeted.

Wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, who was also returning to the team, after a long injury layoff also tweeted.

One of the three double-centurions, Mayank Agarwal thanked the fans for their support. He wrote, “What an incredible series victory for the team! Big thank you to everyone who came & supported us. Heading home for Diwali with a big smile on my face.”

The ‘Wall’ of modern day Indian cricket Cheteshwar Pujara wrote, “Outstanding team effort boys. What a great way to keep going strong in the World Test Championship with a 3-0 .”

Vice Captain Ajinkya Rahane wrote, “With great teamwork, come great victories. (sic)”
