Is it true?: No, the claim is misleading.

  • Zepto CEO Aadit Palicha clarified that the platform was offering test drives of a newly launched Škoda model, but was not selling cars yet.

How did we find out the truth?: We went to Zepto's Instagram account to watch the video carefully.

  • Here, we saw that the video showed a specific car model, the Škoda Kylaq, but did not provide any specific details.

  • We then ran a keyword search with the term 'Škoda Kylaq Zepto' which showed us many news reports.

  • One such article by Hindustan Times' automobile vertical said that the quick-commerce website had partnered with Skoda to offer test drives to customers in 10 minutes.

The report said that the platform was providing test drives for the Kylaq.

Similar reports by Outlook Business and ETV Bharat, too, said that the platform offered test drives.

  • None of the reports mentioned that Zepto was selling cars.

  • We also came across a statement by Zepto's CEO Aadit Palicha on LinkedIn, where he clarified that they were "not delivering cars in 10 minutes... yet."

  • Palicha added that users could get "a test drive of the Škoda Kylaq for now"."

Conclusion: Quick-commerce platform Zepto is not delivering cars in ten minutes.
