A video of former United States President Joe Biden stammering and asking what a helicopter is to US President Donald Trump is being circulated on the internet to take a dig at the former.

What have users said?: An X (formerly Twitter) user shared the clip suggesting that Biden looked pathetic and kept asking trivial questions. Taking a dig at the former President, the user said, "Mind you...he was the President for USA for four long senile years."

An archive of the post can be found here.

What are the facts?: The viral clip has been digitally altered. In the longer and original clip, one cannot clearly hear what Biden and President Trump were talking about.

What led us to the truth?: At first, we noticed text at the bottom of the viral clip that said "BIDEN DEPARTS U.S. CAPITOL".

The text was present in the viral clip.

  • Taking this as hint, we performed a keyword search using the same words and found a longer version of the viral clip posted on the official YouTube channel named 'WKYC Channel 3'.

  • It was uploaded on 21 January and its title said, "Former President Joe Biden departs US Capitol."

  • On going through the clip, we couldn't figure out what President Trump and Biden were talking about. We could only hear the anchors covering the event.

Comparing visuals: Team WebQoof compared a keyframe from the viral clip to the visuals available on the YouTube one and found several similarities.

A comparison clearly highlights the similarities.

Other sources: We found similar visuals posted on a different YouTube channel called 'WCNC' on 21 January. The clip showed a close-up view of Biden and President Trump having a conversation. However, we could not figure any such statement heard in the viral clip.

Conclusion: It is clear that the viral video had been edited to take a dig at former US President Joe Biden.
